I am a Filipino: Social Studies for Kinder to Grade 2 | Units 1, 2, and 3, Digital Bundle

The “I am a Filipino, Social Studies for Kinder to Grade 2” is composed of three Unit Studies: Identity, Community, and Country. You can buy them individually, or in this digital bundle for a lower price. You get a total of 27 lessons you can use for your homeschooling activities.

Unit 1: Identity – In IDENTITY, students will learn about their identity as persons, and as members of a family, community, country, and as part of the environment. God is the source of our identity. Based on what the Bible says, a person’s identity is rooted on the principle distinguishing humans from other creatures: We are created in the image of God.

Unit 2: Community – In COMMUNITY, students will learn they are created to belong to a community. Being part of a community tells us we are interconnected with people, organizations, systems, and activities present in our neighborhood, barangay, and local government. It also means we are intertwined with both human and non-human creatures around us. How we manage our homes and businesses, for example, affects the natural environment and all other creatures whose lives depend on the environment’s health. Hence, this material also gives an overview of the ecosystem, as well as the activities and relationships keeping communities healthy such as business, trading, friendships, networks, and the pursuit of justice.

Unit 3: Country – In COUNTRY, students will learn how the Philippines became a country and what its official national symbols are. They will also learn about the country’s 18 administrative regions, its diverse culture, and its tropical climate. Through this material, your students will also acquire knowledge about the Philippines as an archipelago, especially the seas and islands marking its territory; and its main landforms; its bodies of water; and its biodiversity.
