Our Learning Philosophy

Listening

Listening is the first step to learning. We believe the parent/teacher should consider the needs, interests, and abilities of their children. Jesus, Himself, gathered His disciples and gently listened to their concerns, answered their questions, and repeated His lessons when they were slow to understand. Still, it was Jesus who taught His disciples, not the other way around.

Practicing

Practicing is the second step in the learning process. We need to apply the lessons we learned in real-life situations. This deepens how the student understands each lesson. Games, exams, creative indoor activities, or short trips outside the house can help practice what the student’s learned. Practicing helps our students build their knowledge on solid footing.

Living

The third step in the learning process is living out what we learned.  All throughout Jesus’ earthly ministry, He gave His disciples opportunities to practice what they learned from Him. He was often with them for guidance and protection. But in Matthew 10:1, Jesus sent out His disciples to personally experience what it meant to preach the gospel of God’s kingdom with power.
